Port One

Concerns raised at Public meeting - Little Blakenham Village Hall - Monday, 19th January 2026

16 Members of the Public present

  • Treatment of the road system – many dangers – junction is an accident ‘hotspot’
  • Proposed traffic lights on A14 roundabout (Claydon) and another roundabout near to Pound Lane – with a proposed 3,000 workers on site the result will be ‘horrendous jams and hold-ups’
  • Overdevelopment of site – too large in comparison to Great Blakenham – grave concerns how the current Port One site is ‘slowly creeping towards the village and expanding in multi directions
  • Pollution – from traffic – proposed 500 lorries each hour, 24 hours a day
  • Pollution – Light
  • Application includes 6 hectares of solar panels, yet not many on each building
  • Environment – proposal will ‘wipe out’ a lot of wildlife currently present on the site, which includes crested newts and bats.
